Billing
Your bill is always due on or before the 10th of each month. Failure to receive your bill does not excuse late payment or grant you a late fee exclusion.
Our techs do not carry cash or take payments for these fees out in the field – they must be paid over the phone or in our office.
- $25.00 service call during business hours
- $75.00 service call after hours
- $25.00 missed service call or inspection appointments
- $50.00 Reconnection fee up to 30 days after lock off for non-payment
- $100.00 Reconnection fee over 30 days after lock off for non-payment
- $50.00 Additional deposit after first lock off for non-payment
- $500.00 MINIMUM cut line fee – ACTUAL RATE BASED ON OCCURRENCE
- $25.00 Per returned bank draft or returned check
- $10.00 Per credit card charge back fee
- Effective July 1, 2026 – fees on all credit/debit card payments – rate based on amount of bill
Levelized billing helps to keep bills at a relatively similar rate throughout the year and is helpful for those on a budget. Your most recent 12-month billing history is divided by those 12 months to calculate your levelized bill rate. You may enroll in our Levelized Billing Program year-round, with a few exceptions, please call the office to find out more. You will be required to sign an agreement, which lists our rules and regulations for the program, upon enrollment.
Payments
- You may enroll in our bank-draft program – if you would like to do so you can print the form off of our website (found under the Forms tab) and return to our office with a voided check. Or you may come into our office and bring a voided check or check payment for your current bill and sign the form. Bank Drafts are pulled from your account between the 8th & 10th of the month, depending on when the 10th falls, we do not draft on the weekends.
- You may enroll in our credit card auto-pay program on our website, create a user account in the portal and choose the credit card auto-pay option. Credit Card auto-pays are charged to your card between the 8th and the 10th of the month, depending on when the 10th falls, we do not do credit card auto-pays on the weekends. Card fees apply.
- You may pay over the phone with a credit or debit card – card fees apply – our phone number is (901) 877-6236.
- You may pay in person, we are open 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise
noted due to holidays. - You may pay a one-time payment on our website without enrolling in credit card auto-pay – card fees apply.
- We have a drop box located at the front of our office building, it is the covered slot located to the right of our front door, DO NOT USE THE BLACK MAILBOX to drop off payments. DO NOT LEAVE CASH IN THE SLOT.
- We offer the ability to pay your bill online, as well as over the phone through our automated IVR system. To pay online, simply click the Pay Online button located at the top right of the page. To pay by phone, please call the office during normal business hours at (901) 877-6236. After hours, please call the automated system at (844) 558-1311.

EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2026
HARDEMAN FAYETTE UTILITY DISTRICT WILL BEGIN CHARGING FEES ON ALL DEBIT/CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS.
THE AMOUNT OF THE FEE WILL DEPEND ON THE AMOUNT OF YOUR BILL.
The rates for the fees are as follows:
$2.50 for all transactions up to $50.00
Any amount over $50.00 will be 2.8%, this is in addition to the $2.50 for up to $50.00
ANY CARDS THAT DO NOT ALLOW FEES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE USED FOR PAYMENT – THIS INCLUDES CERTAIN PRE-PAID CARDS – SINGLE USE VIRTUAL CARDS – CARDS THAT ALLOW ONLY CERTAIN CHARGE TYPES **SUCH AS UTILITY BENEFIT ALLOWANCE CARDS PROVIDED BY CERTAIN MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE PLANS**
IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN OUR CREDIT CARD AUTO-PAY PROGRAM
IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO REMAIN IN THE CREDIT CARD AUTO-PAY PROGRAM, ONCE THESE FEES TAKE EFFECT, THEN YOU WILL NEED TO LOG ONTO THE PORTAL AND SIGN BACK UP FOR CREDIT CARD AUTO-PAY AFTER JULY 1, 2026. IN ORDER FOR YOUR PAYMENT TO BE PROCESSED VIA CREDIT CARD AUTO-PAY IN JULY THEN YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THIS DONE NO LATER THAN JULY 8, 2026!!!!!!
